Curriculum and Assessment

Elementary ELA Curriculum

Our current ELA instruction includes resources from Treasures, Reading Workshop, and MAISA Units of Writing. During the 2024-25 school year, K-5 teachers are piloting two language arts curriculum programs.  EL Education will be piloted during the first semester, and Bookworms will be piloted during the second semester. In May, 2025, a decision will be made on which curriculum to implement. The implementation will begin for the 2025-26 school year.

Elementary ELA Benchmark Assessments

Current elementary benchmark assessments for language arts includes:

• DRA-Developmental Reading Assessment

• Acadience Learning Online (DIBELS) Assessments

• MAISA-Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators Writing Benchmark Assessments

Assessments may be adjusted based on the new curriculum adoption.
